7 Things For January
A fresh new year is here and I have some fun things ahead that I can’t wait to share! In the interim, we’re wrapping up house projects that feel like they should long have been over with (we’re getting there though- above is a sneak peek of our kitchen!) and moving out of our house for a little bit while everything gets completed. If I’m being honest, this past December was not my month for a lot of reasons, so I’m very happy to move onto January! If you’re ready for a fresh start too, I’ve got you covered with quick ways to improve your indoor air quality, a discount on my favorite nontoxic cleaning brand, some natural remedies that work wonders, and more. Here are 7 things for January!
One. A Healthier Home
One of my favorite January posts is this one which gives you 4 quick and easy ways to improve your indoor air quality and create a healthier home. Sometimes simple actions can have a big impact!
Two. A Discount On My Favorite Nontoxic Cleaning Brand

Speaking of indoor air quality, switching to safer cleaning products can really clean up your air. This study shows that regular use of cleaning sprays has an impact on lung health comparable with smoking a pack of cigarettes every day. Not great news, but I’ve got you covered with a totally safe and very effective line. You can read my full review of Branch Basics here and they’re offering my readers a discount to help you get your new year off on the right foot. Use code Maisonpur for 10% off of all starter kits until 1/31/20.
Three. A New Kind Of Natural Deodorant
If you’re familiar with most natural deodorants, they help with odor but do little in the way of controlling moisture. Sweating is good for your body and helps the detox process, but sometimes you want a little something extra to absorb extra wetness. That’s where Madame Lemy comes in. The powder formula does an astounding job at odor control and also helps to absorb some wetness too. At $35 it’s on the expensive end for deodorants, but after 2 weeks of using it, I’ve barely made a dent. This will likely last for a good while! The rose scent is beautiful and also has hints of jasmine and vanilla.
Four. An Unexpected Remedy
As I mentioned, December wasn’t my month, and in the midst of it all, I came down with a sinus infection. Within a day or two I recognized the symptoms. I had just gotten over a cold and no sooner had the congestion started to clear up, then it came back with a vengeance, plus major sinus pain, headache, and overall feeling drained (plus more, but I’ll spare you the gross stuff).
I wasn’t relishing squeezing in a doctors appointment and remembered getting a sample of the Sovereign Silver Bio-Active Silver Hydrosol nose spray at Expo East. I decided to give it a try, not really expecting it to do much. Well, within 48 hours I was feeling much better and my congestion was starting to clear up a bit. Within 4 days all of my sinus pain, gross symptoms and more were gone. We’ve used their first aid gel with colloidal silver with success, but I still couldn’t believe it actually worked. It was nice to skip out on antibiotics and find a natural remedy that did the job.
Five. Shine Bright
Aether Beauty just launched their gorgeous new highlighters and as an avid fan of their makeup, I couldn’t wait to see them and all the different ways they can be used. I’ve already seen several makeup artist experimenting with it and have been drooling over it since. I think it may be my first makeup purchase of the new year. The Supernova Crushed Pink Diamond Highlighter is calling my name! If you want to get in on their latest addition, you can view it here. Use code MAISONPUR to save 20%.
Six. Detoxing Your Routine
I love coffee, but this time of year everyone I know is switching things up and taking a break from this or that and you can even find me sipping on matcha lattes rather than reaching for another cup of coffee (for the record I don’t believe coffee is unhealthy at all, but I start to reach my max intake in December with all the hustle and bustle). If you want to get your fix without the caffeine buzz, I highly recommend matcha which has properties that sustains the energy you get from it without causing the sudden crash you get from caffeine in coffee. The purest brand that I’ve found is Encha. It’s very high quality and you can find them on Amazon.
Seven. Australia
It breaks my heart to see such devastating fires sweeping through Australia right now and with their hottest months, January & February, still on the horizon, who knows when the fires will subside. It’s especially disappointing to read that some of the fires have been started intentionally by sick individuals. There are so many great causes looking for donations right now. From animal rescue groups to housing for those who’ve lost everything, finding one that aligns with you the most to give to would be a great way to start out the new year. I encourage you to look into organizations you donate to and be sure the money is going to the right place.

Thank you for the tips! Your kitchen looks BEA-utiful! I’ll look for that deodorant; the one I’ve used for years no longer working for me, and creams make me itch. Happy New Year!
Hi Candace, thank you so much!!
