7 Things For November

Ahhh, November. How did you get here so fast? To me, November officially marks the start of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. I’ve got Christmas shopping on my mind, Thanksgiving preparations ahead, and it’s finally starting to cool off around here. It’s a busy month all around, but I’ve got 7 things to help see you through November!

One. Holiday Hand Soaps

Nontoxic Holiday Handsoaps

One of my favorite all natural foaming hand soap brands comes out with special holiday scents each year. These ones from Kosmatology are scented all naturally with none of the crazy fake fragrance like you’ll find in the ones at the mall. The 3 special scents are: Candy Cane Clean, Frosted Pine, and Holiday Spice. They officially launch on the 8th and you can find them here.

Two. Beauty Heroes

This month’s Beauty Heroes features a lovely brand called Beneath Your Mask. I usually do a reveal on the first of the month, but with the fires and everything happening in their area in California, shipping them out has been a challenge. If you’re already a member, you should get your box soon, and if you decide to order this month’s box they will be working diligently to get new orders. out. The hero is Heal Whipped Skin Soufflé, which is a rich body butter, and the sidekick is Remedy Conditioning Lip Balm. Both are sure to be cool weather staples! To check them out or to order, you can do so here.

Three. No-Bake Apple Cookies

7 Things For November

These paleo-friendly, vegan cookies are so quick and easy to whip up and boy, are they addictive! Good thing they’re made from healthy, real food because my family inhales them. The recipe is from paleorunningmomma.com, which has some of the tastiest recipes for healthier sweets that I’ve come across. I’ve made so much from her site, but these are a must in the fall! Get the recipe here.

Four. Vegan Lipsticks From Lily Lolo

7 Things For September

Lili Lolo just launched the most gorgeous collection of nude lipsticks and they’re all-natural and vegan- win/win! You can see the entire collection on The Choosy Chick, but my favorite shade so far is In The Altogether.

Five. Cold-Weather Skincare

My Organic Skincare Routine

Last month I posted about how I switch up my skincare routine for colder weather, but after a cold weekend in the mountains, I was reminded about 2 masks that I love when it’s cold out. Josh Rosebrook’s Cacao Antioxidant mask is awesome because it increases blood flow and naturally brings in more hydration to your skin. It’s wonderful when my skin feels parched from the dry indoor heat. Another is the Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask. This helps hydrate and deeply moisturize skin and feels like silk on your skin.

Six. Non-toxic Christmas Trees

Too soon to be setting a tree up just yet, but since a lot of people will start right after Thanksgiving let’s talk about it. I get so many questions on this each year. Real trees can harbor mold and set off allergies. Fake trees are mostly made from toxic PVC (which I would avoid anyway, but especially if you have young children who play on the floor) and flame retardant chemicals are added which are also terrible for your health. There’s not a great answer I can give that meets everyone’s need across the board, but my best answer is this: If you want a real tree, go for it but plan on having it for less time (maybe set it up for a couples of weeks instead of a month) and be sure to air out your house here and there. If you choose to go fake, look for trees made from mostly PE instead of PVC. They’re super hard to come by but this tree has the lowest amount of PVC that I’ve found that’s widely available. IKEA has PVC free tree available. They may not be the fullest Christmas trees out there but they’re safer and affordable!

Seven. Ayurveda Inspired Hot Chocolate

If you’re looking for a festive way to get in some super foods, look no further than Elements Truffles Ashwagangha infused Dark Hot Chocolate. I’ve talked about their chocolates (and hot chocolate!) quite a bit in the past, because I love that it’s a treat but also low sugar and somewhat healthy. Plus it’s delicious! You can find it here and stay tuned- I’ll be teaming up with them to give away some of their yummy chocolates later this month!

Here’s to a busy, but fun month ahead!
