7 Things For September
Here we are, in the month of change. While the kids settle back into the school routine, fall will slowly makes its debut. As I’m sure it is for many, this is a very busy month for us and anything I can do to streamline my routine and keep everyone healthy (and at school/work) is very welcome. With a little help from some new launches and some old favorites, I think we’ll make it though. Here are 7 things for September!
One. Plant-Based Beauty
I’m so excited about the launch of this book from Jess Arnaudin. She did such a wonderful job of including so much helpful info on everything from seasonal beauty needs to what different products do. It’s also a really pretty book and would make a lovely gift! You can find it here.
Two. A New Kind Of Dry Shampoo
I’m tempted to come up with a whole new category for this one, as dry shampoo doesn’t seem to cover it. Innersense Organics Refresh Dry Shampoo pumps out as a wet foam that massages into hair easily. It then quickly dries to a powdery finish and gets to work absorbing extra oil and making your hair smell and feel clean and fresh. I think the magic is in the fact that it starts as a liquid and really can work its way through your hair. I’ve found it works best if I use it the night before (when I know time will be too tight in the morning to shampoo and dry!). Find it here.
Three. Plastic-free Lip Balm From Blue Heron Botanicals
Between the kids, my husband, and I, we always seem to have a million little plastic lip balm tubes floating around drawers, pockets, nightstands, you name it! Each tube has just a little bit of plastic, but it all adds up, so I’m excited to find a brand that makes theirs with zero plastic and organic ingredients. They even have a balm for little scraps and injuries called Wound Warrier! You can recycle or compost the packaging on all of Blue Heron Botanicals’ products. Buy them here and use code MAISONPUR to get 20% off!
Four. Lashes For Days
W3ll People just launched a new Volumizing Expressionist Mascara and WOW does it make my lashes pop. Lots of volume and length, it gives a very bold lash look. As always, W3ll People delivers it at a reasonable price as well. This is one of the few natural mascara that doesn’t bleed/transfer when I wear it, but I make sure to use a setting powder on my lashes before I apply. Find it here or at Target.
Five. Shiftcon
Very excited to be attending this year’s Shiftcon in Atlanta next month! They have so many great speakers and it’s a chance to learn, discover natural brands, and to connect with like-minded people trying to advocate for a healthier world. There’s still time to get tickets if you want to go!
Six. Elderberry Syrup Time!
Ok, so I usually make my own and enjoy doing so (one of the few DIY’s I like to do), but seeing as I’ve had no kitchen for over a month with the remodel, I just order some from Seattle Elderberry. It’s organic and made in small batches- so as good to homemade as it’s gonna get right now! My friend Janny first told me about them and I’m excited to finally give them a try! Buy it here.
Seven. Baby soft skin in a flash..
Odacité’s newest launch is the Bioactive Rose Gommage and it really is a treat to use. The jar pumps up the gel-like mask, which has a pretty pink glow and smells beautiful. You then apply a thin layer with their brush. From there you can either use it as a mask by letting it dry all the way, ooor catch it just before it dries and use it as a gommage (my favorite way!). If you’re not familiar, gommage is a French term and when talking skincare means that it’s a product that you gently roll it off with your fingers. With the enzymes it really gives a double punch and leaves skin super smooth! Find it here.
Happy September!
