February Beauty Heroes With Blüh Alchemy

February Beauty Heroes featuring Blüh Alchemy

February Beauty Heroes is here and I’m really excited to share this month’s intriguing discovery! The featured brand is none other than Blüh Alchemy, which became a fast favorite among Beauty Heroes members when it was featured in a box last year. It’s a well edited line with so much thought and research behind it and the result is botanical skincare that works so well that people swear by it.

Becky Blüh, Founder of Blüh Alchemy Skincare, received formal training in cosmetic chemistry and worked closely with top natural chemists to develop what eventually became her skincare line. Her background and training have resulted in some pretty extraordinary products like the two featured in February Beauty Heroes!

The Hero

The new Botanic-Retinol is just what you’d expect from this innovative line. Looking for all the benefits of a retinol without the harsh, drying side effects? They’ve created a potent concentrate that uses the star ingredient Bakuchiol, which -as they would say in Zoolander- is so hot right now. This break-out star is clinically proven to improve skin texture, increase firmness, elasticity, and boost collagen. All without the negative effects from traditional retinol.

They’ve also combined 4 other plant-derived sources of vitamin A and included ceramides, minerals, and plenty of extracts that majorly draw in hydration. The result is a serum that’s a powerhouse!

The serum is very lightweight, non-oily, and as I’ve found, easy to layer under any moisturizer. I prefer layering a high quality face oil over it as it really seals in all of the hydration this serum imparts. I also have found myself loving the scent- though it’s not strong. It just has a light scent that’s slightly herbal and a little floral and fruity. It’s really nice and soothing. I feel like this serum would probably suit most skin types, even sensitive. While it’s too early to speak to any dramatic results, so far I’ve really enjoyed this serum and have all positive things to say about it.

The Sidekick

If the Hero wasn’t remarkable enough on its own, the sidekick is here to amaze you even more. The Eye Oil Serum checks all of the boxes for me and then some when it comes to eye products. I love the roller-ball applicator (seriously my favorite way to apply eye products since the roller-ball helps to depuff and makes sure the serum is evenly applied) and the ingredients treat ALL of your possible eye woes.

The star ingredient is Hibiscus, dubbed the “Botox plant”. While I can’t speak to how closely this works like Botox, I can say that it’s been proven to increase cell turnover and hydration. They’ve combined it with ingredients that reduce hyperpigmentation, dark circles, and puffiness. It also is packed with antioxidants and more ingredients to help brighten and tighten skin.

The scent was unexpected but I really like it. It’s slightly vanilla, but like the serum it isn’t overwhelming in the least. It is an oil, so I’ve been mostly using it at night as I don’t like layering makeup over oily products. That said, it actually absorbs fairly quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue behind, so you may like wearing it both day and night.

Get it while it’s hot! I have a feeling this one will sell out fast due to the brand being a fan favorite and the value for these products. The serum typically retails for $140 and the Eye Oil Serum is usually $82. You can score them both in this month’s box for as low as $37.96, depending on your subscription. You can even buy a one-time box if you want to try this line out without the commitment of subscribing. As always, members get 15% off everyday in the Beauty Heroes Beauty Stop.
