Gua Sha Stone and body balm on counter

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Gua Sha, so I was beyond excited to find out what the February Beauty Heroes Discovery is! This month features the beautiful brand Yina and focuses on full-body treatment. Specifically, full-body Gua Sha. It is a truly magical experience and I can’t wait to spill all the details!

February Beauty Heroes

golden Body Balm

The Hero

The hero this month is Yina’s Recovery Body Treatment. It’s a beautiful golden balm that’s designed to stimulate circulation and encourage lymphatic movement. It also happens to be a great moisturizer!

Yina draws on Traditional Chinese Medicine and that’s reflected in their formulation. This balm includes plenty of potent herbs and actives that multi-task to give you smooth, glowing skin. It’s anti-inflammatory and really energizes skin. It has a really bright, upbeat scent. Ginger pops out the most but it also has depth with the other herbs included.

This normally retails for $125

The Sidekick

The Gua Sha Bian Stone is the absolute perfect sidekick. I’m such a fan of facial Gua Sha and couldn’t wait to test out this body stone. First, the stone itself is very special as it contains many rare elements and trace minerals. And it’s shaped perfectly to tackle everything from your legs to your shoulders and everything in between.

I’ve talked at length about Gua Sha, but a kick recap on the benefits: Increases circulation, improves skin tone, helps your lymphatic system detox, reduces bloating, and breaks up cellulite. If you get in the habit of doing Gua Sha on a regular basis, you will absolutely feel a big difference!

Full Body Gua Sha

For a routine, here’s what I’ve been doing: After showering, I apply the Recovery Body Treatment to one area at a time and immediately follow with the Gua Sha Stone, working section by section. I highly recommend doing a quick search on YouTube for what order to go in and what the strokes should look like to properly clear your lymph. It’s super easy after you see how it’s done!

I start at my ankles and work my way up. Then I go from my wrists to my shoulders and down to my heart (similar to dry brushing). You can use this on your breast area and this may be one of the most beneficial areas to use it! Especially if you wear underwire bras regularly which can block some of the lymphatic fluid movement.
