So you’ve switched over to natural beauty products and now you’re sure that things like retinol are out of the question. Before you resign yourself to slathering up in rosehip oil every night (shown to be anti-aging, but let’s face it: it’s no Retin-A), I’ve got the answer to your anti-aging skincare routine and it’s gentle and effective. I’m sharing two skincare routines below that naturally increase collagen and speed up cell turn over. The catch? One is a higher end routine ($$) and one is a more budget-friendly approach.

Ok, so first things first. I know the term anti-aging is considered a bad word in the green beauty community. We’re supposed to lovingly accept ourselves as-is and cherish every wrinkle. I get it. But look, there’s no turning back the clock. We’re not here asking for magic answers and to look 20 again (well….). Seriously though, I may never look 20 again, but I’ve grown to love and appreciate my features more than ever in my 30’s and I’d like to take care of what I’ve got!

Natural Retinol Nighttime Routine

The High Version

This routine includes two exquisite products that are effective and lovely.

marie veronique gentle retinol

Marie Veronique’s Gentle Retinol Night Serum was one of the first natural retinols to hit the scene and remains one of the best. I’ve used it on and off for years and not only does it help with minor acne, but it also fades spots and softens wrinkles by speeding up cell turnover. It is extremely gentle and I’ve never experienced any dryness or peeling as some describe with traditional retinol. You can always start out using it every other day and be sure to you sun protection as it will make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Find it here. Cost: $110

Worth The Money

I would recommend following the serum with my holy grail face oil, Agent Nateur (holi) oil Refining Ageless Face Serum. It is so calming and gentle and has plenty of anti-aging benefits to boast of its own. It moisturizes deeply without any greasiness while increasing elasticity and collagen. Find it here. Cost: $120

The Low Version

Don’t let the word “Low” fool you. The price tag may be reasonable but both of these products are made with high-quality natural ingredients and they really work!

Exfoliating Serum

Live Botanical’s Fleur de Terre Exfoliating Serum is a newer product from them and it’s been quite a pleasant surprise. While this isn’t actually retinol, it combines an AHA with a BHA (exfoliating acids) and works to gently exfoliate skin and speed up cell turnover. Like retinol, it helps to improve texture, spots, and fine lines. Find it here. Cost: $38 (Use code MAISON PUR to save on your first order)

Luna Resurfacing Oil

To give the above serum a boost and enhance it’s effects even more, follow it with Live Botanical’s Luna Overnight Resurfacing Oil. It gently moisturizes, while fruit enzymes get to work resurfacing skin. You may want to play around with how often to use both to avoid any sensitivity. This also increases sun sensitivity, so be sure to wear sun protection. Find it Here. Cost: $48 (use code MAISONPUR to save on your first order). They make products in small batches to maintain efficacy, so if something is out on their site, it will likely be restocked soon!

Either routine works well and is an easy way to take your nighttime skincare up to the next level. You decide if you want to go high or go low!
