New and Noteworthy

This Spring has brought some amazing new product releases in the natural beauty world. I remember when I first made the switch over to natural products and I was so nervous about finding replacements for certain products, but you know what? One of the last holes in my routine was finally filled this Spring, along with some new additions that I didn’t even know I needed! I really can’t tell you how much I love finding new items that blow away my old toxic products. Each and every one of these does just that.

Josh Rosebrook Lift volumizing spray

Lift was THE missing piece in my haircare routine. I really missed my old volumizing spray but hadn’t found anything in the natural world that even came close. I tried a few products that claimed to add volume, but mostly I was left with flat, stiff hair. Then Jose Rosebrook released this gem (you may remember it from my Spring wish list) and I actually won it in a giveaway hosted by my fellow blogger Janny of Jannyorganically.com! (I also won a full size shampoo and conditioner as well, which I will review soon.) I was soooo ecstatic that I won and couldn’t wait to try it out. A few spritzes before I blow-dry and Wow!! Amazing hair with definite volume. Sometimes I let my hair air dry overnight and after using Lift I still wakeup with volume, even without blow-drying. I love how bouncy and full it makes my hair along with the fresh, clean scent. Buy it here. Cost $22

Leahlani Coco Infusion

I know, I know.. I talk about Leahlani all the time. I can’t help it though. Everything from this handmade, artisan line is just simply exquisite. The entire product line is fine tuned to perfection. The scent, feel and even look of each product is always amazing and always makes for a full sensory experience. This oil is no exception. I have the Mahana scent and it brings me to the beach immediately in my mind. The shimmery oil soaks in nicely to my skin and hair- a little taste of sunshine in a bottle. I know I’ll be bringing this to the beach and pool with me all summer! Buy it here. Cost $24

Pink Balm

Leahlani Pink Balm

Another home run from Leahlani. This has yet to be officially released or even named, so I can’t link you to where to buy it. I will say the color of the balm is honestly the most gorgeous shade of pink that I’ve seen. Most balms I’ve tried immediately become oily once the heat of your skin warms them, but this stays a true balm.. Fully emulsified and very soothing and hydrating. Since I wasn’t sure what it was or what it was for when I received it, I did what any good blogger does and immediately emailed Leah to see what the uses were smeared it all over myself from head to toe. It left my face calm and very moisturized and soothed everything from dry elbows to chapped lips. It smells delicious too. The only thing I know about this product so far is that it contains blue tansy. I will keep you all posted on it’s release date, it should be soon!

Sempiira

Sempiira Deodorant

I’ve had the pleasure of trying this relatively new brand of solid natural deodorants and I have to say, I’m impressed! I try a lot of deodorants since it’s one of my most asked about products, and many simply don’t pass the test. This brand was put to serious test, as it’s been hot and sticky here in NC for the last few weeks and I’ve been spending lots of time outside with the kids. Even on the hottest sweatiest days, I was pleasantly surprised at the fact that I really did not smell at all. It contains baking soda which is extremely effective, but some people can be sensitive to it so use with caution after shaving. This also has many moisturizing ingredients so the baking soda shouldn’t be a problem for most people. Also, because of the moisturizers, I recommend using only one swipe and waiting a couple minutes for it to absorb in before you put your shirt on. I definitely way over-swiped the first time I used it and it left me a bit greasy. This was remedied by following the advice above. I love their variety of scents. There’s one for everyone- even Balsam Fir which is suited perfectly for the guy in your life. For the record (I feel like I always need to clarify when we talk about natural deodorants), this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. It will not keep you from sweating, but it will keep you smelling great all day. Buy it here. Cost $16.50

Elysian-Fields-High_Res_compact

La Bella Figura Elysian Fields

This hair and body hydro-essence smells amazing and adds just the lightest mist of moisture that really hydrates your skin and hair. Perfect for these hotter months. I don’t win things often, (despite what this post may imply) so I was beyond excited when I won a sample of this along with La Bella Figura’s perfume sampler set and travel mood booster back in December! It’s safe to say I used this up quickly spritzing it all over my hair and skin. Even though it’s a light mist, it still manages to add some extra control to hair and a more supple feeling to skin. And did I mention how heavenly it smells? I use it for the fragrance alone sometimes. Buy it here. Cost $65

Any new products you plan on trying this summer? I’m also hoping to try this and this from One Love Organics. So much goodness and so little time! xoxo
