November Beauty Heroes

This month features a very unique brand with a one-of-a-kind skincare experience. The star of the November Beauty Heroes box is Ayuna. My very first introduction to them was in a tiny hotel bathroom in Charleston with my friend Janny. We were staying in neighboring rooms and after my hubby and I put the kids to bed I snuck over to her room for a glass of wine. She asked if I wanted to try something cool, but made me swear to secrecy about it. Next thing you know, we were washing faces and applying Ayuna’s unique peel and then rolling it off our faces (sounds weird, but I’ll explain). I was impressed right from the first try, so of course I was really excited to learn Ayuna would be featured in Beauty Heroes and I’d have a better chance to get to know their products.

Ayuna believes that ‘Less is Beauty’ so they have a carefully curated product line with a simplified routine. Founded by a master esthetician and a scientist/cosmetic formulator, Ayuna has striven to streamline their ingredients to only include what will feed your skin without over doing it. No overstimulating or aggressive ingredients, Ayuna’s goal is to let your skin balance and repair itself. One side note, since you guys know I talk about scent a lot: These products have a strong scent. For me it’s pleasant and I actually really like the perfumey fragrance, but scent is so personal and some people prefer no scent at all, so I always like to give a head’s up. The scent is all natural, of course.

Essence Cream-In-Oil Peel

This is what started it all for me. Such a gentle exfoliant that leaves my skin smooth, soft and very hydrated. The whole process is so unique. After cleansing your skin apply a layer of Essence to your face and neck and leave it on for a while. I’ve found 15 minutes to be just enough for me. Then you roll the product off, by gently rubbing with a couple of fingers. It comes off pretty easily and leaves behind gorgeous, glowing skin. There’s no grit to it, unlike most exfoliators. The ingredients do most of the heavy lifting and by rolling it off, you reveal fresh, smooth skin.

The Sidekicks

This month included 2 sidekicks to round out the whole experience. First, they included Ayuna’s Nourishing Artisan Soap. The pretty marbled soap looks like a work of art and it does a great job of cleaning without over drying. I find it also does a great job of getting makeup off. This would be your first step in a skincare routine, followed by applying Essence.

The next sidekick is their Rejuvenating Cream, which would be a final step in your streamlined routine from Ayuna. The cream is rich and thick, but goes on nicely without leaving skin feeling greasy or heavy. I feel like it would do great for normal to dry skin types. We’ve had the heat going lately and my skin has loved the moisture from this.

November Beauty Heroes: Ayuna

If memory serves me, this has to be the greatest value of any Beauty Heroes box to date, rounding out to a grand total of $205 worth of products. Obviously, this makes it a phenomenal deal, but more than that, if you’ve been wanting to try Ayuna but the price gave you pause, this is a great way to try the line and see if you really like it enough to invest in it in the future. You can order the November box here. As always, Beauty Heroes members get 15% off in their beauty store and it’s a great way to stock up on top notch brands like Ayuna. xo
