A Peek in My Pool Bag
By now, summer is in full swing and you’ve probably had multiple trips to the pool, lake or even to the beach. We frequent the pool and enjoy boating on the lake, but we are so looking forward to our late summer beach trip!
What better way to enjoy the sun and water than to have a stash of all natural products in your bag to stay healthy while having fun? I thought I’d share a few of our pool day essentials!
First and foremost, sunscreen. I love that The Honest Co. came out with a spray version of their sunscreen! It is so much more convenient to apply to the kiddos (and even to myself). EWG.org scored it as 3 (which is good, not great- but since I can successfully reapply it to the kids more often, I feel it’s the best product for us). Spray sunscreen should be used carefully around kids and please don’t spray it around their faces. I use the lotion version for our faces. EWG.org scored it as 1. Badger also makes some great sunscreen products for kids and adults.

Who doesn’t need a refresh after sitting in the hot sun for a couple of hours? I blogged about my favorite natural deodorants here, and Weleda Wild Rose is my favorite pick for freshening up on a hot day.

I cannot be in the sun without a good lip balm. Right now I’m loving RMS Beauty Lip and Skin Balm. As far as natural products go, this one will leave your lips silky smooth and you won’t miss your old, toxic lip balm one bit!

I always wear my hair up in a bun or braid at the pool, which makes it the perfect time to leave in an oil or other moisturizing treatment to help protect it from the chlorine or salt water. At a great price, Acure Organics Marula Oil fits the bill perfectly.
Where to buy: Acureorganics.com $15.99
Snacks are also essential! I try to bring fresh fruit like a banana or an apple, but I also love Kind Bars for a quick, grab and go option. Have you tried the almond coconut flavor?
Where to buy: Amazon.com $17.55/pack of 12
Can’t forget the little ones! Both my 3 year old and my 1 year old like Yum-a-roo’s Bountiful Bites. This organic snack is a mix of dried fruit and veggies so it’s healthy and easy to throw in the bag.
Where to buy: Amazon.com $30.46/pack of 12
Another hit from The Honest Co. is their reusable swim diapers. I love the pineapple print for Annabelle and the shark print would be adorable for a boy. It’s nice to find a swim diaper that doesn’t add so much bulk to their bottom.
Where to buy: Honest.com $13.95
Throw in water and a big floppy hat and we’re ready for some fun in the sun! What are some of your favorite natural products for your pool bag?
