7 Things For August
The final stretch of summer is upon us in this anything but normal year. With back to school around the corner (or perhaps, back to learning at home!) we’re savoring the last of summer while prepping for the season ahead. Luckily, there are plenty of fun new launches to help us ring in the final month of summer and prep for the school days ahead! With that, here are 7 things for August.
7 Things For August
One. Osmia Purely Gentle Mud Cleanser
What can I say? Sometimes you have to get dirty to get clean. This Purely Gentle Mud Cleanser has aloe, sea silt, coffee seed oil, and more and lives up to its name quite nicely. It’s extremely gentle but really works. It even removes stubborn makeup! If you’ve been looking for a gentle cleanser, I highly recommend this! Grab one here. (At $64 this is on the luxury end, but given that it works so well without stripping your skin, it may be a worthwhile investment if you need a gentle cleanser)
Two. Zoe Organics Insect Repellent
Just in time for the last of the summer bugs, Zoe Organics launched an insect repellent in an aluminum spray bottle. It’s very lightweight and smells really nice which is a plus! You can spray it on clothes and hair without a greasy residue being left behind. Find it here.
Three. Laurel Skincare Special Launch
Talk about a special product. This much anticipated limited launch from Laurel showcases some of the most beautiful and potent botanical ingredients. Laurel’s Hydrating Elixir C: Jasmine Hibiscus has (as you can imagine) such a beautiful scent and, according to Laurel Skincare, combines a raw in-house triple Hibiscus extraction to harness the power of whole plant Vitamin C alongside its bioavailable flavonoids, helpful co-factors and phytonutrients. They also use a very special hydro-distillation process to capture the benefits of the Jasmine flower.
Each year these go fast, so scoop one up here while you can.
Four. Lunch Prep
Whether you’re going back to school in person or online, you may be looking for some lunch inspiration. Even at home this past spring, I found it easier to have lunches and snacks ready to go ahead of time to keep things moving along during the day. Some accounts/sites I love following for lunchbox ideas are Weelicious, Live Simply, and Lalalunchbox. The last one even has some tips for schools that are requiring completely disposable lunches this year.
Five. Zoe Surface Spray
Speaking of back to school, if you’re looking for a non-toxic hand and surface sanitizer, Zoe Organics once again has you covered! They just launched one in a pocket-size that can easily fit in backpacks. Find it here.
Six. Favorite Makeup Brushes
Vegan, sustainably-made makeup brushes? Yes, please! **Update: This brand has sadly closed down for now.
Seven. Beauty Heroes with Josh Rosebrook
It’s hard not to be excited about Josh Rosebrook’s newest launch, the Daily Acid Toner, but it’s even more exciting that it’s included in the August Beauty Heroes Discovery! I shared my full review of the box here but it’s worth mentioning again since all of the products included are perfect for August. Not the least of which is the Daily Nutrient Cream Tinted, which is a lovely tinted SPF that has just enough color to keep it from leaving a white cast while blending into more skin tones. You can check it out here.
Happy August!
