A Little Piece Of The Tropics With Lani
My happy place is laying on a beautiful, sandy beach with the warm sun shining down on me (for better or worse for my skin) and anything that can give me that state of mind while I’m stuck on dry land, has my name all over it. So when Lani offered for me to try their Tropical Hair and Body Treatments, I jumped on the chance. Their packaging is so cute and fun, plus I’ve had several blogger friends give this line their glowing recommendations, but I wanted to see for myself if this tropical inspired line really stood out.
Lani is actually a U.K. based company, which may be far from the tropics, but they certainly manage to give their products a tropical feel using ingredients like coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, Kukui nut oil and more. It was really import to Viola (Lani’s founder) that all the products be completely natural with no unsafe ingredients and 100% vegan. She liked the idea of using oils since they moisturize so well (and I’ll note that oils don’t need extra additives like preservatives). She started by creating oil blends for her own use, but after many friends requested her to make extra of her hair oil for them, she knew she was onto something. I was able to try her Tropical Hair Treatment and Tropical Body Treatment and was surprised by how much I really enjoyed them. I mean they’re just oil blends, right? But honestly, the scent and the cute packaging and how well they worked, really impressed me.
Tropical Hair Treatment
I’m no stranger to oiling my hair and often times mix up my own blend or I just use straight up coconut oil or Jojoba oil. I was excited to switch it up and use a different blend that contained some nut oils that are even more hydrating than some of the lighter oils I use. I just didn’t want it to be too much and have my hair weighed down the next day, because I’ve definitely had that happen to me! Every time I use the hair treatment though, I marvel at how rich the oils seem and yet, my hair never feels oily after using it. The blend has a really nice scent that’s reminiscent of some tropical island, without being overbearing. The packaging is so cute- I know I keep saying that, but seriously! I love it, and it’s practical too. The inside has a stopper with a smaller hole so you don’t wind up with too much oil coming out at once. As the directions say, I work the oil from my roots to my ends and leave it on for a good while (they say at least 30 minutes). Then you wash your hair twice and just like that, you have super smooth, nourished hair. My hair feels so good after using this! Since my hair is thick and longer, I’ll probably go through the bottle a little quicker, but it’s a fair amount of product and they say it will last you anywhere from 6-18 uses, depending on your hair and how much you have to use each time.
Tropical Body Treatment
So I’ll admit, this was the product that I was a little skeptical about. I mean, I’m sure it would moisturize and all, but was it really a treatment? Yes, without a doubt. This oil blend is rich and intensely hydrating. It’s great for anyone with dry skin or after a day at the beach when your skin needs a little TLC. The oils absorb in and manage to keep my skin hydrated for hours. When I use it at night, I wake up and still have super smooth skin with no dry patches. Again, just like the Hair Treatment, the scent is lovely. It’s true to the Lani tropical feel, without being overwhelming. The oil blend contains sweet almond oil, coconut oil, Camellia oil, Baobab oil, Moringa seed oil, and Ylang Ylang oil. These oils all have such great skin benefits and will leave your skin super silky and soft.
Both of these truly whisk me away to somewhere warm and sunny. I know they’ll become staples this summer as we frequent the pool and my skin and hair need a little extra protection and love. Because I know you’ll love these too, I’ve teamed up with Lani to giveaway not one, but TWO sets of these! Head over to my Instagram page for how to enter. You can purchase their products here. Wishing you some tropical sunshine on this Monday! xoxo
