A Night For Green Beauty Recap
It’s already been a week and I still can’t stop thinking about this year’s A Night For Green Beauty! It was such an incredible evening filled with phenomenal nontoxic beauty brands, retailers and so many top influencers in the green beauty community. They even had a braid bar and professional makeup artist touching up your look. The event space was elegant and chic, and the place was buzzing the whole night. I’m still sad that I missed a few people I wanted to meet, but the night was so busy and honestly, it was a bit hard to spot people in real life when I only know most of them from blogs and Instagram. However, I did get to chat with so many incredible people. I’m ready to give you all the dirty deets!
So first of all, I must apologize for the quality of the photos. I debated on bringing my nice camera, but felt like it would be too much to manage along with holding a purse, stuff I bought, and perhaps a drink :). I used my iPhone and the lighting was a little weird in there- it made for a great event in person, but 75% of the photos I took turned out tinted and dark. Like this photo of my husband and I below:
This year’s event was held at Venue One in Chicago, which was just a stunning and sprawling space. Before the main event, they held a ticketed event referred to as The Show, which was a runway show featuring several looks by makeup artists in the green beauty community using only natural cosmetics and hair care products. It was a fun to see some familiar faces as the models, such as Brandie Gilliam of OrganicBeautyTalk.com and Jessica Morse of BareBeauty.com. (Pictured below- Models Aisha and Mia):
Each look was created by one of the retail sponsors of the event: BeauTeaBar, EcoDivaBeauty, and IntegrityBotanicals. I have to say they all were stunning and it was awesome to see such gorgeous looks created with only natural beauty products, but one of the best parts of the show were the swag bags waiting for us in our chairs.
I’ll show what was inside in a moment, but all of the retail sponsors were so generous and I truly appreciate all they contributed for this event. Immediately following the show we were able to explore the space and go to each table set up by the brands that were there. Meeting the creators and founders of these incredible products truly was the highlight of the evening, along with meeting so many of my fellow bloggers and other influencers in the green beauty community. Despite the fact that I missed so many people I wanted to speak to, there were so many inspiring people that night.
Some of the amazing people I met: Sarita Coren of Edible Facial, who is not only a gentle, kind soul, but also a big influencer in the green beauty community, Sheri Stroh, who is an incredible makeup artist (if you’re not following her on Insta, you should: @sheristroh), Rikita Kapadia of Cocovít, who I’ve worked with in the past and I just adore her, Erika Rodriguez of Axiology, who I’ve also worked with and she is so sweet in person! I spoke with so many other founders that night that all have so much passion and creativity behind their lines, but the one that sticks out the most in my mind is Suzanne LeRoux of One Love Organics. I just love her whole line of products and hearing her talk about why they use the ingredients they do and how they formulate their scents was just incredible for me!
Some of the product launches that stood out for me were: Josh Rosebrook’s Balance shampoo and conditioner, which smells amazing and seems to be the answer for those who found his other shampoo/conditioner too heavy, Cocovít’s new charcoal mask, Alima Pure‘s new pressed foundation (launching next month), One Love Organics new products like the Coconut + Salt body lotion, and so many others. I had my heart set on purchasing some of these new releases, however my husband was very strategic. He insisted I had no need to bring my wallet since he’d be there with me and it would free up some hands, but then he seemed to be no where to be found anytime I was near a table of products I wanted to purchase. I only managed to snag some of Captain Blankenship’s Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray, but jokes on my hubby, because many of the retailers offered special discount codes to those who attended ANFGB. So I’m still planning on doing some damage!
Of course, such a big thanks to La Bella Figura who has been the driving force behind A Night For Green Beauty. I had the opportunity to meet Victoria and she is absolutely lovely. Although I’m sad this was the last A Night For Green Beauty, it’s exciting to see what they have in store for the future. So, I bet you’re all wondering just what was in the swag bags! I tried to fit everything into the pictures below.
Pretty incredible, right? Well, if you’ve been feeling down that you couldn’t make it to ANFGB this year, I have a surprise for you. Since a lot of these items are duplicates for me (and as much as it pains me to admit I don’t need 4 bottles of Aila + BeauTeaBar Like A Boss nail polish… at least according to my husband), I’m giving away some of my swag plus some items out of my personal collection, so that you can have your own swag bag and feel like you were there (almost). Just enter below and I will announce the winner here on the blog in a week!
A dream green event would be in my city of Boston! I think the ANFGB format is pretty amazing. Maybe also having a panel session of hearing the creators/owners talk would be interesting as well. Boston is having a Well Summit this fall that I’m excited about. While beauty isn’t the main focus, there will be some of that in the conference. I’m looking forward to learning about wellness for all aspects of life. Thanks for the giveaway…love following your posts…I read them before but just didn’t ‘officially’ follow you.
Aaaaw Molly, what a great event! Xx
So lucky you got to go to Chicago for this! AND your husband attended with you?!! What a guy! Mine would never go with me! haha.
I wish they would come back to New York for this – I didn’t know about green beauty when it was here and now that I am transitioning over, this would definitely be my dream green event.
I would love to see a green beauty event happen in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. What could be better natural beauty and natural skincare:)
I would love one Boston during the spring! I would love to introduce my friends to green beauty through an event 🙂
Molly that sounds amazing. I don’t know if I would of been able to control myself!!!! So great to see inside the event and glad u had fun! Xo
Oops sorry I did not answe the question. I’d love one in Providence RI!! Gorgeous welcoming city.
Ohhh you are generous lady! I so jealous, it looks incredible and so well put together. Full of class. Looks like you had such a ball!
Sounds like such a fun time, Molly! I would love to attend ANFGB next year, without hubby though. He’d have to stay home to watch the kids ?
Thanks for sharing! Everything looks and sounds great! Mg dream green beauty event would be a local type event like this- I would love to meet and chat with like minded people 🙂
Something similar to ANFGB would be great. I’d also like a panel to discuss products or specific ingredients, maybe a diy area, and a place to test out and apply products – for example masks, makeup, etc.
how about a DIY Beauty Workshop with all the lovely bloggers… would love to meet all you wonderful, kind green beauty bloggers and .
Haha I love that bit about your husband!
I would love to attend to some Green beauty events, but there isn’t much possibilities around my hometown, also since I am not a blogger I wouldn’t be invited anyway. So, maybe there should be something for us readers too sometimes!
Hi Jenni,
ANFGB and many green beauty events are all open to the public! Everyone’s invited 🙂
Lol! It’s funny now, but not so much at the time! xx
That would be so much fun!! Great idea <3
I’d love to see a panel discussion as well. It’s so nice to hear brand founders talk about why they use certain ingredients and I think that would be perfect for a panel!
Thanks! It’s so fun just to be in the same room with like-minded natural beauties!
I would love to meet you Nora!! Hopefully next year we can make it happen. (and definitely leave the hubby at home, I learned my lesson!) xo
Thanks Rowie!! Wish we could get all the bloggers from all over the world together in one room. We’d have a blast! xx
They have the WELL summit going on in Boston sometime in November. You should check it out! I would totally go to that if we didn’t have other travel plans then.
I’m from Boston originally!! Be sure to check out the WELL summit happening there this November! 🙂
I’d love that too! Vermont is gorgeous!!
Pauline,
There is something in NYC next week! It’s called Indie Beauty Expo, I think. You should definitely check it out!!
Wish you were there Julie! xoxox
I’m from Boston originally too! I wish I could go to the WELL summit. It’s sounds like it’s going to be pretty amazing!
