April Beauty Heroes
It’s not everyday that a brand comes along that really exudes luxury while also delivering results, but True Botanicals (formally True Nature Botanicals) does just that. If you’ve hung around here long enough you’ve definitely heard me singing their praises for everything from their Night Serum with Retinol to their new Eye Serum, so you know I was excited when I found out they would be featured in the April Beauty Heroes box! Everything I’ve ever tried from True Botanicals could easily stack up against luxury department store skincare brands and even out deliver them on actual results. That’s because they go above and beyond with the ingredients they use, by sourcing the most effective ingredients and then having the products tested by 3rd party clinical studies to ensure they deliver results. Most of all, I’ve seen results from their products first hand, so I know they work.
This brand is such a good match for the Beauty Heroes’ motto belief of quality over quantity. You know whatever products you get from them will be high quality and the hero this month is a good representation of that. I was fortunate enough to meet Hillary Peterson, the founder of True Botanicals, and Kevin Dooley, customer relations and all around product guru, at A Night For Green Beauty last year. I was struck by how knowledgeable and passionate they both were about the products. Hillary even went so far as to walk me through step by step how to apply a certain product THREE times after I said I was having trouble (seriously, they say there are no dumb questions.. but then I come to the party and make her walk me through it multiple times). She really wanted to make sure I was using it the right way and I appreciated that she cared so much. It wasn’t about selling me something, it was about making sure I understood the how and what of that particular product so that I could see it working for myself and experience the actual results. So on to this month’s box and a perfect hero for spring!
Exfoliating Moisture Mask
It’s no surprise that this mask has become a quick favorite of mine! It smells good and is super easy to apply. This mask gives you that glowy, dewey, fresh look ASAP. No joke. It erases the dead layer of skin on top and pulls in moisture to the rest of your skin making your skin look new and fresh. That’s even more impressive when you find out you only have to leave this mask on for a few minutes. 3-5 minutes for more sensitive skin and up to 15 minutes for non-sensitive skin, to be exact. Beet derived lactic acid does the heavy lifting by exfoliating and then boosts natural collagen production and hyaluronic acid levels. It also contains avocado and mango butter to moisturize and nourish with vitamins and potato flour which is packed with enzymes and as I recently learned, it’s awesome for lightening and brightening hyper-pigmentation. I see immediate results with this mask and it’s become a staple in my routine a couple times a week.
Pacific Face Oil
Included as a sidekick this month is one of my favorite all around face oils. It covers a variety of skin issues and works with just about all skin types. They use several different seed oils and marine extracts in this formula and my skin loves it. It works well with any of their other treatments, including the Exfoliating Moisture Mask! This face oil is very moisturizing and softens fine lines, making it an incredible sidekick to the mask. This is a super sized sample, giving ample product to try.
As always, the Beauty Heroes box is such a great value this month. The mask usually retails for $90 and the face oil in this size would usually go for $28, but both are included for $39 in the Beauty Heroes box. Such a steal and such a great way to get acquainted with one of my favorite natural skincare brands. Even if you’ve tried True Botanicals before, this mask is definitely worth checking out! You can order this month’s box here and as always, subscribers get 15% off in the Beauty Heroes shop which features past heroes and other Beauty Hero favorites. xo
