When I think of natural and organic mascaras, all I can say is that we’ve come a long way baby! Even just 5 or 6 years ago it was slim pickings, with most natural mascaras quickly flaking or leaving me with racoon eyes. There was no special formula out there that would lift and lengthen lashes, much less stay put most of the day. But today, you can have it all no matter what you’re looking for. There are great options for volumizing lashes, lengthening lashes, or even just giving your lashes a subtle look that will hold up all day.
Below I have a list of what I consider to be some of the best natural mascaras out there currently. I’ll give the disclaimer that when it comes to natural mascara, results vary widely and I’ve found that skin type and what kind of skincare products you use can make a difference in whether a particular formula will work for you. All of these have worked great for me and for reference I have combo skin and avoid using oils around my eye area prior to applying makeup. I love a good eye serum, but I save that for my nighttime skincare routine!

Pump It Up- Best In Volumizing
W3ll People Expressionist Volumizing Mascara– The larger, hourglass shaped brush really brings the volume. If you’ve tried their original Expressionist Mascara and thought it was too subtle, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with this one. I’ve also found it to be longer lasting than the original. Lily Lolo Big Lash Mascara– Go big or go home.. This may have the most volumizing power out of all of the natural ones that I’ve tried. I was already a huge fan of the original version and this gives you the best of what the original offered with definition and all day wear, and it brings the wow factor. Get it here. $22
Fitglow Vegan Good Lash + – This is the priciest on the list but it also doubles as a lash treatment to condition them and help them grow. The big fluffy brush helps build big, lush lashes. Find it here. $38
Standouts- Best In Definition + Length
Lily Lolo Vegan Mascara– Hard to beat the original. This is a long time favorite of mine and perfect for everyday wear. It stays on all day, is as close to waterproof as I feel you can get with natural mascaras, and really lengthens and defines lashes. Get it here. $20
Ilia Limitless Lash – This is a newer favorite for me, but one that I reach for regularly. The shorter, spindly brush helps to pull apart lashes and really define them. It also has impressive staying power and never flakes or smudges on me! Find it here. $28
RMS Beauty Defining Mascara– With a fine, intricate brush, this is perfect for length and definition. It’s hard not to love anything from RMS, this included. Pick one up here. $28

Erin’s Faces Matcha Mascara– This one blew me away when I first tried it. It took 9 years of development and the end result is proof that natural mascara can be amazing!
