Branch Basics Review: So Fresh And So Clean

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. One of the quickest ways to improve your indoor air quality is to ditch the toxic cleaning products. A recent study found that regular use of conventional cleaning products has the same effect on your lungs as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. Crazy, right? But before you swear off on scrubbing your bathroom down ever again, I have a better option and I’m so excited to share my Branch Basics review.

I’ve talked about safer cleaning products a lot over the years, but I was mostly piecing together different brands and adding some DIY things in. There was nothing that covered it all. For the last two months I’ve been testing Branch Basics and they are the real deal! Their line is unlike anything else I’ve tested and it covers ALL your cleaning needs effectively. So effectively in fact, that I couldn’t wait to share about them with you guys after I fully tested everything out. You will love this line. I even have a discount code down at the bottom for you!

Branch Basics Review

A huge thanks to Branch Basics for sponsoring this blog post. Most of you know by now, I only partner with brands and companies I fully believe in and that meet my own strict ingredient and performance standards, and that I think will benefit my readers. Branch Basics 100% meets all of this criteria and I’m proud and excited to partner with them for this post. I’m also excited to clean now that I’ve found them!! My house has never been cleaner haha!

How it works

I mentioned this line is a bit different than other cleaning products and here’s how: Their cleaning system cleans everything in your house from laundry to your windows. You simply use their multi-purpose concentrate and dilute it with varying amounts of water (depending on the task at hand) and then you’re set! One bottle of concentrate makes multiple bottles of laundry detergent, cleaning sprays, and even foaming hand soap! The best way to go, in my opinion, is to get the starter set which includes a bottle of concentrate, plus all of the reusable cleaning bottles you need.

Their bottles have a fill to line letting you know how much water and how much concentrate to use. Fill it up and you’re ready to clean!

The best part is that when you need more, you can just refill the cleaning bottle at home! Get a new bottle of concentrate every once in a while and you’re all set. Less plastic waste and less shipping, which is better for the environment and for your wallet.

Branch Basics Review

Branch Basics has no fumes and really, hardly any smell at all. It’s completely nontoxic and safe enough to wash fruits and veggies with! I love that I can make more when I need it since I usually forget to repurchase things until I’m nearly out of it.

Cleaning Products

You can use it to clean anything, like adding a bit to your mop bucket to clean floors or adding some to a sink full of water to wash produce. But they also offer 3 different standard bottles that have the easy fill-to lines: All Purpose Cleaner, Bathroom Cleaner, and Glass Cleaner.

Branch Basics Review

All Purpose Cleaner– I use this mostly as a kitchen & counter spray or to wipe up mud the dog tracked in or any other quick cleanups. So far it’s worked wonderfully around our kitchen, on hardwood floors, sealed wood, and tiled areas. It does great with grease or sticky stuff, and really everything else I’ve tried it on.

Bathroom Cleaner– I was hesitant about this one, because I wondered if it would be effective. I was pleasantly surprised! It handles bathtubs, shower tiles, sinks and more with ease. It does a great job at getting rid of build up and mildew. If you have hard water or lots of build up, you can spray it first and then sprinkle some of their Oxygen Boost and scrub it away. I use the spray plus some Oxygen Boost to clean the toilets, as well.

Glass Cleaner– This just has a drop of the concentrate, but amazingly it’s enough. I use a microfiber cloth and this spray to handle all the windows and mirrors in the house and it leaves them streak free every time. And no headache from the smell like conventional window cleaners used to give me!

Laundry

Branch Basics Review

OK, this may be what I was the most excited about since it’s taken me forever to find a nontoxic detergent that I absolutely loved. It works WONDERS for the laundry. Like a lot of natural laundry detergents, there’s no scent, but the clothes comes out smelling fresh and clean. With other natural detergents I tried in the past, after a while our clothes would start to smell musty or not quite clean, but after 2 months of using this, our clothes still come out fresh!

I put a scoop of the Oxygen Boost in every load and then use 3/4 of a cap full of the detergent (which is a TINY amount, by the way) and the laundry comes out clean every time. For stains, I either pretreat with a little bit of the detergent or for bigger stains, I soak the item in water and some of the Oxygen Boost. It gets out everything!

Hand Soap

Branch Basics Review

In the starter kit, you also get a foaming hand soap bottle that has the fill lines on it as well. It foams up nicely and dispenses just the right amount. I love that it’s refillable too, since all too often plastic soap bottles get tossed after one cycle.

If you want to jump on board the Branch Basics train, I’ve got a discount code for you! Use code maisonpur to save on their site. I recommend the starter kit that has the Oxygen Boost, since I use that often doing laundry or cleaning the bathroom. The starter set will replace your whole arsenal of cleaners with just a handful of effective products. If you try them, please send me an email or comment below on your thoughts. I really am so impressed with Branch Basics and want to know your thoughts on them as well!

  1. Hello,

I just started using Branch Basics and I LOVE it, but I am a bit confused about the laundry detergent. As it only calls for 3/4 cap full, my washing machine always says “detergent low”. Have you, or anyone else you know, had this issue? Do you put the detergent into your dispenser or directly into the wash bin? I have a front loader.

I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

    All the best,
    Laura Junker

  2. Hi Laura! I have a front load washer as well but have never had that happen. Does it have to do with the sensor in your machine thinking there’s not enough detergent? If so, you can top it off with water just to fill the detergent dispenser. I hope that helps. If not, let me know if I can help in any way!
