Fall Makeup Picks

As the colder weather is slowly starting to set in here, I’m getting the inevitable itch to switch up my makeup to a much more polished and slightly more dark and moody look. As much as I enjoy the fresh faced makeup I wear during the warmer months, there’s always something exciting about switching all my wardrobe and makeup over to fit the colder months ahead. Maybe it’s just the excuse to do a little shopping :), but I also happen to love the excitement of all the upcoming holidays, so I think it may be something of a ritual for me each year that signifies all of the festivities ahead. With so many gorgeous products out this fall, I have some picks that will have you swooning and maybe doing a little shopping yourself!

Can we talk about Ilia Beauty for a moment? They typically have a really pretty palette of colors and lately they’ve been knocking it out of the park! Their new fall releases are completely gorgeous and I want them ALL. My favorites are this beautiful, yet unique eyeliner, this cool, smokey shadow, and this striking, red lip color.

I am definitely a nail polish junkie and love to switch up what I wear with the weather. I’m a huge fan of Aila’s Mister Pookies for fall and winter, but a new color that’s caught my eye this fall is Treat’s new polish: Art House. The dark, rich red shade is perfect for fall and the upcoming holidays.

This is a great time of year to switch up your fragrance (and if you haven’t already switched to nontoxic fragrance, you can read my post here about why it’s one of the most toxic beauty products). I really love Lurk’s fragrances. The are deep and complex, but also very unique. I have a few favorites, but truly this type of product is such a personal thing. Luckily Lurk has a sampler kit out that allows you to try their scents and find one that you love. You will probably find a couple of favorites, in fact! 

If you’re a one and done kind of gal, W3ll People’s Universalist Colorstick has some gorgeous, fall-ready shades for your cheeks, lips and eyes. I’ve been loving the Dusty Rose shade, which is a warm, light pink color.

Sometimes I shy away from bold shades, but still want a little drama. Kari Gran’s Marsala Lip Whip is a wine red lip tint that hydrates your lips while giving a little tint of color. The light wash of color is perfect for when you don’t want a fully “done” lip or if you just don’t do bold lip colors.
