So Fresh And So Clean
Finding a clean deodorant can be a dirty business. I seriously can’t count how many natural deodorants I’ve tried that just didn’t work or failed me at critical moments.. Which is really never fun, especially for those next to me (yes, I’m thinking of you, brunette woman with the purple leotard next to me at ballet class 3 weeks ago. Sorry!). I’ve found a few that work, but most have been jars of product that must be spread on with my fingers. Laziness + small children climbing on me and getting into everything around me, make it less likely I’ll reach for those that leave my fingers messy and instead reach for my solid, stick versions, even if they don’t work well. Mabrook & Co. solves both problems for me though, by creating a solid deodorant that keeps me smelling fresh ALL day!
This deodorant is completely free of any of the toxic stuff found in traditional deodorants like aluminum/aluminum salts, synthetic fragrances, parabens or other preservatives. Also, just so we’re all on the same page: Deodorants are not the same thing as antiperspirants. It may seem obvious, but they get interchanged so much that I feel should clarify. Clean deodorants like Mabrook & Co. keep you stink free but won’t keep you from sweating the same way an antiperspirant would (which actually forms a gel plug in your pores which is totally unhealthy). Scared? Don’t be. I think most people find they sweat way less than they actually think would. Plus, a lot of versions contain starches or clays that wick away wetness. I’ve honestly never had a issue with wet pit stains since switching to natural deodorants unless I’m working out or doing some extreme physical activity. In fact, even in my ballet and Barre classes I don’t often feel that sweaty under my arms.
Mabrook & Co’s mission is to ‘Clean up your life’ and they use only the best non-toxic and organic ingredients. Don’t you love that? They have 3 amazing scents: Vanilla & Mint, Lavender & Herb, and Eucalyptus & Spice. My personal favorite is between the last two. Eucalyptus & Spice is definitely the most masculine scent but also totally wearable for a female. They each last all day and kept me from having any odor issues at all. Like most natural deodorants, they are oil based so I definitely recommend only using a couple swipes and waiting a minute to let it absorb in before putting your shirt on. I just love that it comes as a solid! So easy to use and very familiar for those just switching over to a clean deodorant. Here’s the ingredient list:

Have a Beautiful WE with your little family!
Thanks so much Julie! I will try commenting through twitter. I think the issue was with wordpress and not your blog. Hope you have fun and relaxing weekend! xo
Thanks for the review of a green deodorant. I’ve tried several with litre success. My biggest issue is that my skin has been getting dark since I made the switch to cleaner deodorants. Also, my skin texture has changed…
Hinna,
Thanks for checking out the review! Have you tried any without baking soda? It can cause skin irritation and darkening for some people. Most natural formulas use it but there are some great ones without it. My favorite without baking soda is Pit Cream by Naked Bar Soap Co., and I’ve heard awesome things about Meow Meow Tweets new baking Soda free version. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the great post, Molly!
Hinna – a great trick to counteract the darkness is to gently loofah your underarms every time you shower. In time, you should notice that the darkness will start to fade. Our Clean Deodorant has a really tiny amount of baking soda ( which can sometimes contribute to this issue) and a lot of very moisturizing properties. Give it a try if you’re up for it and combine it with the gentle loofah-ing of your underarms. You may find a winning combo!

Thanks Heather! Hope you love it as much as I do!
