I was so excited when I saw that this month’s Beauty Heroes box featured Osmia Organics. This is a line that I haven’t tried much from, but I’ve loved what I’ve tried from them so far (especially their Spot Treatment). I’ve followed them on Instagram for a couple of years now and enjoy Dr. Sarah Villafranco’s (the founder of Osmia Organics) take on living life to it’s fullest in beautiful Colorado.. and I’m a pretty big fan of her dogs that frequently make an appearance! Dogs always win me over:). Dr. Villafranco is truly committed to keeping the products as pure as possible, and you never have to worry about the ingredients in their products. She left a career as an ER doctor after a turning point in her life, to follow her passion and created Osmia Organics. I’m so glad that she did! Even the soaps they make are like pieces of art. They’re each so beautiful and unique.

Jan Beauty Heroes

This month’s box actually included 4 products in total. The Hero products are Osmia’s Black Clay Facial Soap and Purely Simple Face Cream and included as sidekicks are the not-yet-released Nectar Vital Rose Face Serum and a handy soap saver that will actually increase the life of the Black Clay Soap.

Osmia Soap

The Black Clay Facial Soap is a product that they’re well known for and it works great for normal, combo, or even problematic skin. It combines Black Australian clay and Dead Sea mud with organic almond, avocado and caster bean oil and cleanses skin without stripping it. This time of year, my skin tends to be more dry, but I’ve incorporated this soap into my oil cleansing routine (as a double cleanse) and it’s worked wonderfully. (Retail: $24)

Osmia Organics

Purely Simple Face Cream is just that- pure and simple. One of the biggest issues with lotions and creams on the market is that they contain water and this often results in harsh preservatives and ethoxylated ingredients being used. Obviously, anytime water is included some type of preservative is needed. They’ve chosen gentler ways to preserve it and so the shelf life is 6 months. The ingredients are: aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice*, [sodium olivoyl glutamate and cetearyl alcohol and glyceryl stearate], prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel) oil*, prunus amygdalus (sweet almond) oil*, lactobacillus ferment, vegetable glycerin*, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, [sodium benzoate and gluconolactone], ricinus communis (castor) oil*, GMO-free vitamin E oil, proprietary blend of organic and wild-harvested essential oils. This is one of the most gentle face creams out there. It is suitable for all skin types, but especially a winner if you have sensitive skin. My skin is pretty sensitive and this moisturizes it nicely without causing any trouble. I would consider it a lighter moisturizer and it pairs great with a hydrating serum. (Retail: $60)

Osmia Serum

The Nectar Vital Rose Face Serum was included as a sample sized sidekick to the heroes. This is something Osmia Organics will be releasing in the near future. I’m always 100% honest with you guys, so I need to share that I actually had a reaction to this product. As I said before, I have pretty sensitive skin and have a suspicion that there are a couple ingredients I’m specifically reacting too, but I’ve had trouble tracking down which ones it is. I’m keeping an ingredient list on all the products I’ve had reactions to lately so I can try and figure it out. That being said, I don’t think the problem was the actual product but rather, my own skin’s quirky sensitively that’s developed.

There’s still time to sign up to recieve this month’s box. If you sign up after the 20th, you’ll receive the February box, which is also going to be a great hero product and I’m excited to share it with you all next month! As always, as a member you get 15% off in their shop, which is a great deal! It’s full of some of my favorite products, including things that never go on sale, so be sure to check it out. Happy Monday everyone!
