New From Josh Rosebrook: Hydrating Skincare At It’s Finest
Anyone who’s tried Josh Rosebrook Skin and Hair Care knows this line delivers on both quality and ingredient standards. It’s no secret that I’m a pretty big fan of the whole line, including the hair care, so I was really excited and curious about the new product launches this year. Everyone has been raving about them, so of course when the founder of AILLEA (a natural beauty shop I order from) told me how awesome the products were and offered for me to try them, I couldn’t say no!
I had a feeling I’d love these and I was right. This is one of the few times I’ve opened products and thought they were almost too beautiful to use.. almost. I’m happy to report that both of these products have lived up to the hype.
Advanced Hydration Mask
This blue wonder has such a gorgeous color. The Advanced Hydration Mask is designed to help skin cells retain hydration and to bring more moisture into the skin (my skin says yes to all of that). The ingredient list reads like a “best of” list. So many heavy hitters are included, but some of the most notable are mango seed butter, aloe leaf juice, turmeric extract, goji berry extract, ashwagandha and so much more. It’s best to start with slightly damp skin (the packaging suggest misting with their Hydration Accelerator first) and then apply the mask. It’s a firm balm that melts on contact allowing you to easily massage it onto skin. I’ve noticed the longer it’s on my skin, the more it melts into it. I’ve left it on for up to 30 minutes, but the package recommends 15-25 minutes. To remove it, simply wipe it off with a dry wash cloth. I was surprised by how clean and non-greasy my skin felt afterwards. This mask leaves skin feeling baby soft and very hydrated. I have true combo skin with very dry patches and my skin does really well with this mask. It’s great to use after a day in the sun or when my skin feels dull and dehydrated. $65
Vital Balm Cream
I don’t often say this, but this product is perfection. Everything from the texture to the scent and of course, how well it works. This may sound weird, but when I first smelled it I thought of bubble gum. I still can’t quite place the scent, but it’s really nice and light. The texture is unlike any other product I can think of. It has a whipped, almost creamy texture, but unlike a water-based cream, this doesn’t just disappear into your skin. It really delivers on moisture and has staying power without any greasiness. When I apply it at night, my skin feels just as moisturized the next morning. For me that’s pretty huge. Usually I find lotions or creams are completely gone by morning or I’m so greased up from heavy balms, I feel like an oil slick by the time I wake up. This is a perfect in between. Like the mask, Vital Balm Cream also boosts quite the ingredient list. For the quality of ingredients, I think this has great price too! $45
These have been flying off the shelves, but AILLEA has them freshly restocked. If you haven’t shopped there before, AILLEA carries a lot of my favorites and they offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more, so it’s become one of my go-to shops to repurchase my essentials. I’m always looking for shops that carry a lot of my favorites, rather than trying to place a bunch of smaller orders all over the place. It saves on shipping! xo
