New month, new Beauty Heroes! The May Beauty Heroes Discovery features a brand that’s been somewhat of a hidden gem within the green beauty community for years. You may be very familiar with them or perhaps this is your first introduction. Either way, The two products included this month with help you ease into summer!
About Blissoma
Before we talk about the products, let me introduce the brand. Blissoma was founded by Julie Longyear with a belief that skincare should support your skin’s natural function. In essence, to help your skin do what it inherently knows to do and make it easier. I’ve followed Julie for a long time and I have to say how passionate she is about formulating natural products that work. She truly gets what green beauty means which is becoming rarer as more and more “natural” lines pop up.

The Hero
Photonic Light Shifting Solution SPF 25– On the surface this is a tinted SPF moisturizer. Look deeper and you’ll see it has it’s share of antioxidants and nutrient rich moisturizers. So not only does it protect you from UV rays but ingredients like astaxanthin lend some extra protection and help on the anti-aging front too.
This is extremely lightweight. It feels slightly tacky when it’s first applied but quickly absorbs in to a matte finish and is completely non-greasy. As far as tinted SPF moisturizers go, this one has very minimal coverage. It also doesn’t really have a white cast which is a big plus! Retails for $52
The Sidekick
Aura Phyto Brightening Serum– Alright, this has A LOT packed into it, which I’ll tell you about in a sec. First, let’s talk about what it does. This serum is perfect to protect and repair your skin during the daytime, especially when worn under the Hero product. It has vitamin C which is always a good bet for daytime, no matter what your skin type. It can also help with melasma and hyperpigmentation.
Inside, Aura includes an unbelievable 14 minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins! In addition to vitamin C, it also has cranberry seed oil, whole fruit pomegranate extract, wasabi extract, and many other free radical fighters. Basically, this serum’s got your back! Retails for $72
