Makeup Bag Detox
Want to detox your makeup bag but not sure where to start? This post is for you! I’ve got 6 clean makeup basics that will cover most of your bases and get you started with a nontoxic makeup stash. I usually say to go slow when switching over to clean so that you take your time and really find products that you love, but sometimes it’s nice to start with a clean slate. Then, you can slowly add on with other fun products to expand your collection. These basics all work well and meet my standards for ingredients and performance. They’re also all reasonably priced and I’ve linked them all to the same shop so you can score free shipping!

Foundation & Concealer
Foundation is a tricky one. Everyone has their own preferences on liquid versus powder, etc. I’ve found W3ll People’s Narcissist Foundation Stick to be pretty universally pleasing though. It’s in a twist-up stick form that’s easy to apply straight out of the tube and then blend with a sponge or your fingers. It gives pretty full coverage with a matte finish and can easily do double duty as a concealer as well. Works well on any skin type. $25
Lip To Cheek Color
Another multi-tasker is Ere Perez Carrot Colour Pot. It’s very pigmented and makes for a great lip color, but also blends beautifully into cheeks as blush. I have the color Healthy which is a creamy caramel with a little coral. It’s a nice everyday color, but they also offer some pretty pinks and bolder shades, like the one shown in the collage above, named Holy. It’s very long lasting as well! $25
Powder
W3ll People’s Bio Brightener Powder is not only a setting powder to hold your makeup in place, but it also has a soft-focus effect that blurs fine lines and blemishes. Also, the translucent color is universally flattering. This is my daily go-to to set my makeup. $20
Brow Filler
Can’t forget your brows! Lily Lolo Eyebrow Duo is so affordable and works so well. It was one of the first green beauty makeup products I purchased! It’s a powder/wax combo, so you use the powder to fill your brows and then use the wax to set it in place. $15
Eyeshadow
A well-priced eyeshadow palette with a nice assortment of wearable colors is hard to beat. Ere Perez Chamomile Eye Palette in Gorgeous has a full range of neutral colors with both matte and shimmery shades. I love how pigmented their shadows are! With 6 shades, this palette is a great value for the money. $36
Mascara
The OG green beauty mascara: Lily Lolo Vegan Black. No matter what mascara I try, I still come back to this one. It never smudges or flakes and is almost waterproof. It thickens and lengthens, but doesn’t make lashes look over the top or fake. It’s one of my must-haves! $20
This is a nice little green beauty stash for under $150 for all 6 products. With all your basics covered, you can take your time adding to your clean makeup collection!
