Organic Body Care For Teens

I’m back with the next installment focusing on products for teens & tweens! In the last installment I covered options for natural skincare for teens and this time we’re talking about natural body care. In that post I shared that a study of teens in 2016 showed levels of toxic chemical ingredients in their bodies plummeted after switching to safer products for just 3 days. That’s major!

Most of the participants used a greater amount of body care products than any other category and since it covers the most area on their bodies, hence gives them the greatest amount of exposure, it only makes sense to prioritize healthier body care products.

I did my best to find products that both appealed to that age group and that also had more affordable price tags. I know some teens already shop at Sephora, while others are just starting out with cheaper drug store items. Most products made with natural ingredients aren’t going to be as dirt cheap as the drug store items filled with cheap, synthetic ingredients. It’s just impossible to make the products as cheaply when they’re using better ingredients. That said, hopefully you’ll find something on this list in your price range!

Natural Body Care For Teens & Tweens

Body Wash

Plaine Products Body Wash $30- This eco-friendly, refillable body wash has a generous size (don’t let the price tag scare you, this will last a good while) and comes in two gender neutral scents: Citrus Lavender & Rosemary Mint Vanilla. I love the easy pump dispenser!

Kosmatology Body Wash $12- This comes in lots of fun scents, so both boys and girls should be able to find one they like.

Pure Provence Unscented Soap $7- Perfect for very sensitive skin.

PLANT Apothecary Body Wash $18- Several nice, gender neutral scents. My favorite is Get Happy.

Ursa Major Morning Mojo Soap $14- Energizing and exfoliating!

Meow Meow Tweet Tangerine Basil Body Soap $10- A fun, quirky brand with affordable prices and nice scents.

Body Lotion/Moisturizers

Kosmatology Lotion Bars $11- Easy and convenient, the lotion bars are great for even the busiest teen/tween.

Babo Botanicals Free Hydra Therapy Lotion $12.95- Made for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, this is perfect for teens that need gentler products.

Griffith Remedy Moisturizing Body Lotion with MSM $9.99- 3 lovely scents and a very affordable price!

Plaine Products Body Lotion $30- As I mentioned with the body wash, this is a very large size and also gender neutral. You can subscribe for 10% off.

Ursa Major Perfect Zen Body Lotion $26- This brand works for boys and girls, but I think it’s an especially good swap for some of the overpowering products marketed to boys.

Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Coconut Body Lotion $9.99- An affordable everyday body lotion.

Leahlani Mahana Kula Coco Infusion $30- This smells heavenly- like a day at the beach.

Deodorant

Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant $14- A gentle deodorant perfect for sensitive teens or tweens just starting to use deodorant.

Ursa Major Forest Fix Deodorant $18- An outdoorsy scent perfect for both boys and girls, but may especially appeal to boys.

PiperWai $16.99- A classic that’s been around for a while. It’s effective and universally appealing.

Rustic Maka $9.95- This comes in several scents and different baking soda-free versions.

Mabrook & CO. Deodorant -This comes in several nice scents- from girly to more masculine and even has a sensitive version.

Shaving

Dr. Bronner’s Shave Soap $9.99- This comes out like a body gel but easily lathers up for a shave.

Ursa Major Stellar Shave Cream $24- Soothing and protective, so it’s perfect for those new to shaving.

MGA Super Slick Shave Gel $11.99- Works well for face, legs, or anywhere! Currently sold out, but check back soon!

Badger Shave Soap $13.99- Old school but still works!

Body Mist/Fragrance

Woodlot Sweetgrass Mist $22- This multi-tasks as a room spray, pillow spray, or body spray.

Fresh Eir Spray by Eir $20- Another multi-use spray that can not only be a uni-sex body spray, but it can also sanitize hands, refresh sports gear, and more.

Leahlani Roll-on Perfume Oil $32 for 2- These pretty Hawaiian Scents are convenient to throw in a backpack or purse for touch-ups throughout the day.

Working on finding more for this category! There is a lack of clean fragrances in general, but especially lower-priced items that would appeal to teens.

Hair Care

Griffith Remedy Volumizing Shampoo $8.29 & Conditioner $8.29- Well priced and great for adding some volume!

Ursa Major Go Easy Shampoo $26 & Go Easy Conditioner $28- This set is gender neutral and is great for all hair types.

Plaine Products Shampoo & Conditioner $30 each- Once again, these come through with large sizes that last and eco-friendly, refillable packaging.

Graydon Matcha Mint Shampoo $25 & Hair Smoothie Conditioner $25- These are fun, work on all hair types and the scent is gender-neutral.

Meow Meow Tweet Rosemary Avocado Shampoo Bar $12- Who says shampoo has to be liquid? This is especially good for teens that just want to wash and go.

Innersense Hydrating Hair Bath Shampoo $28 & Hydrating Conditioner $30- Both work great for dry hair or coarse hair types that need more moisture.

Styling

Badger Balm Hair Pomade $14.95- My husband’s favorite to tame his hair, give a bit of texture, and gently keep it in place. It gives a light hold and is flexible, like most pomades.

Innersense Hair Spray I Create Finish $26- My favorite natural hair spray! This is a very large bottle and will last a long time with normal use.

Innersense Hair Gel I Create Hold $26- This is also a very large size. It has the benefits of a hair gel but holds hair in place without being crunchy & stiff.

Toothpaste

Risewell This is our personal favorite. Use code MAISONPUR10 to save on their site.

Davids Charcoal Toothpaste $9.95- A cool retro vibe with the metal packaging.

Dr. Bronner’s Toothpaste $6-7 (price varies)- One of the more affordable natural toothpaste options.

Hopefully, this guide will help in finding some great natural body care products for teens or tweens in your life. In my next installment, I’ll be covering teen makeup, so stay tuned for that!
