I always say one of the best things about blogging is all of the awesome, natural brands I’m able to discover that I may not have heard about otherwise. Like perhaps, an eco-luxe line from the UK, that’s handmade, certified organic and has won a ton of awards… Sounds pretty incredible right? Recently, I was introduced to Odylique by Essential Care, which is not only 100% natural and organic, but they also hit all the right notes by using fair trade ingredients, responsible labor practices and absolutely no animal testing. They’re relatively new here in the States, but they’ve been at the forefront of the natural movement in the UK, making natural products for the last 3 decades. The entire line was developed by a mother and daughter who still own and operate the brand and everything is handmade in their Suffolk workshop. I love knowing they’re still so hands on and they don’t outsource the production to a third party. With products for the whole family including everything from baby care to hair care to cosmetics, I couldn’t wait to try out a few things!

Odylique

I was fortunate enough to be able to test out of couple of their lipsticks and their concealer and all have worked beautifully. The lipstick colors shown are Rose Parfait and Praline. I thought Praline would be my favorite, as it’s a little more subtle, but Rose Parfait goes on a bit sheer and gives you buildable color. It’s surprisingly wearable for everyone. If you want it a bit brighter, a couple more swipes will definitely give you more saturated color. I was also pleasantly surprised by how moisturizing the lipsticks are. They almost feel like you’re just applying lip balm, which is convenient for daily use since it does double duty.

Odylique concealer

The concealer comes in a twist up tube. I tried it in medium and it was a pretty good match. I was a little doubtful about whether I’d like it since I haven’t used a concealer in that form in ages (like we’re talking since my tube of Covergirl concealer from high school), however I really loved the easy application! Usually I use a pot which needs to be applied with a brush or a larger multi-use stick, but with this you can simply apply it right to the areas you want and just pat it in. It’s also convenient to throw in your bag and take it on the go, due to it’s size and easy application.

Odylique Baby Wash

Annabelle is always a willing Guinea pig when it comes to trying out new products and this time her job was easy :). The baby shampoo and body wash has soothing, gentle ingredients like calendula, aloe and chamomile and it was very gentle on her skin. She has long, fine hair, so I was worried about it weighing her hair down with the natural oils, but it left her hair less tangly and with not a hint of greasiness. Her hair is not only easy to comb after using this in the bath, but it turns out just as swingy and bouncy as normal. It has a very slight, light herbal scent which is not overpowering at all.

Odylique Baby Balm

We also tried the Organic Soothing Salve, which can be used as a barrier cream when diapering or as a massage balm. We used it as an after bath massage balm and it’s gentle scent and ingredients worked well to relax Annabelle and moisturize her skin before bed. Since all of their products are free from major allergens like ingredients derived from nuts, wheat, dairy, lanolin, etc, they are completely safe for sensitive little ones.
