On My Mind

Happy Friday friends. It’s been quite a week hasn’t it? I’ve had lots going on with me personally- all good, although somewhat stressful at times and a lot happening with the green beauty community (and let’s not forget the week that poor Rachael Ray has had. Seriously, can we all just let her get back to whipping up some quick tacos??). I have some news on some upcoming events and some products to share with you that have quickly made themselves at home in my routine. And before I forget to mention it, there is still time to enter my giveaway with Noble Carriage. They have the sweetest baby and kid stuff. All completely nontoxic and/or organic. I’m in love with pretty much everything they carry!

First, I wanted to share that I won’t make it to iBE next week. I’m super bummed, but the timing is terrible. There are a million and one reasons why this week is not the week for me to be gone, yet I still tried to make it work. Clearly I need to be here though, so I’ll be watching from afar and missing some of my good friends who will be there! I’m still shooting for the NYC event, although that is the week my son starts kindergarten so we shall see. As much as I’d love to go, my son is more important. That being said, if I can figure it out to be gone a couple days and not have it impact his big transition, then I will be there. Now on to the products I’ve been loving!

Hubalou

The Hubalou hair wrap from ShopConciousBeauty, com has been rocking my world. I first saw Taylor of MyLuciteDreams.com posting about it and knew I needed it in my life. This wrap is rayon made out of 100% bamboo and it’s surprisingly soft and thin. I have really thick, long hair that tends to take forever to dry and gets frizzy easily. This wrap holds ALL of my hair and twists it into a tight wrap on my head making it easy to apply makeup or just do stuff around the house (like put the kids to bed and deal with my wet head of hair later). It quickly wicks away moisture and keeps my hair smoother than when I wrap it up in a towel. Turns out all the terry cloth actually roughs up your hair’s cuticle and makes it easier for it to get frizzy. This solves the problem and I find it way more convenient to wear than a towel on my head. If you follow me on SnapChat then you’ve probably seen me wearing it!

W3ll People Concealer

Ok, let’s talk W3LL People! You guys know I’m in love with their new concealer and I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the difference between the Light and Medium shade. I showed them side by side on SnapChat (see above). The medium isn’t that dark, but I think Light would suit a lot of people of caucasian or even asian decent. The medium seems a bit warmer. I was able to make it work if I blended it really well, but it would be a better fit for someone a little darker than me. I know, it’s so hard to shop for these things online! I hope the swatches help.

W3ll People Mascara

Speaking of W3LL People, their new Expressionist Pro Color series mascaras are pretty amazing too! All of the colors are designed to enhance your eye color and they do it well. I tried to get a good shot of myself wearing them this week, but seriously, that is easier said than done. I really couldn’t get a good shot, but I will say that the colors are subtle. The blue is the only one that really is noticeable. Even the purple goes on as more of a plum and simply enhances your eye color without screaming “I have purple mascara on!”. The blue may be more noticeable, but it’s still pretty low key in my opinion. If I can wear it picking up the kids from preschool in broad daylight, then anyone can pull it off! Seni Naturals The Best Body Oil

In other product news, I wanted to share a new launch I’ve been loving from one of my favorite brands. You may remember me posting about Seni Naturals not long ago. I fell in love with their Belly Butter even though I’m not pregnant. I ended up using it as a body butter and loved the way it melted into my skin. I used it so often that it may have been the quickest I’ve ever gone through a jar of body butter! So I was happy when they came out with The Best Body Oil (that’s the name of the product, but also a statement I agree with!). The handy pump easily dispenses product and the oil quickly absorbs into skin while leaving it super moisturized- and not the least bit greasy! My skin stays soft for so long after I use this. It has a light Lavender scent and is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day. You can find it here

Lastly, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to ThePeridotMag.com, which was started by a few of my favorite bloggers and has proven to be a wealth of knowledge about all things green beauty and clean living. Be sure to check them out! Happy weekend everyone. xo
