A brand that’s all natural, safe and gives back to the community? AND you can find it at Target? As far fetched as it may sound, such a brand does exist! I’ve been talking about PLANT a lot lately and today I’m sharing all the details about this pretty incredible brand. Plant’s organic line of beauty, bath and grooming products seems to be everywhere right now- including in my local Target store! Not only are the products themselves pretty great, but the way that PLANT Apothecary gives back is admirable. This Brooklyn company works with a nonprofit organization to help give adults with physical and mental disabilities work training and opportunities. All of their products are made in Brooklyn by these adults, that otherwise may have limited opportunities to enter into the work force. I’d say that’s win win! I’d also say that is exactly the kind of company that I like to support.
Their wide range of products are created using the principles of aromatherapy and herbalism, which has resulted in some pretty incredible smelling products that are perfectly suited for either men or women. From talking with the PLANT, I can tell they care greatly about the effect of that their ingredients have on both people and the environment. They are striving to create the most effective and safe products that they can. I was able to try quite a few products from their line and couldn’t wait to tell you guys about them!
Body Wash $20
Their body wash comes in five scents: Get Happy, Be Well, Get It On, Calm Down, and Wake Up. Each one is designed to be therapeutic in it’s own way. I especially love the idea of having a body wash to either wake you up or help you calm down before bedtime. As far as the scents go, my favorite may be Get Happy with its pleasantly upbeat blend of geranium and peppermint. The recyclable plastic bottles have easy to use openings that make getting the right amount of product a breeze. These do get slightly sudsy (some natural soaps do not) and do a great job of washing the day off without stripping your skin. I love that they leave behind just a subtle hint of scent that’s not too overwhelming.
Body Oil $38
The body oil comes in three scents: Calm Down, Wake Up and Get It On. It’s a rich enough oil to deeply hydrate your skin, but still light enough to sink in without leaving an oily residue behind. Their blends include oils such as Sunflower seed oil, jojoba seed oil and apricot kernel oil, all of which are known to be moisturizing and nourishing for your skin. While the scents are all pleasant, they are light too (just like the body washes), so they won’t overwhelm you or interfere with any other scented products you use.
This sea salt bath soak combines organic mustard and organic eucalyptus essential oil to help relieve stuffy noses and too help alleviate sore muscles. mustard is known to help draw heat to the soaking area which increases blood flow and helps to get rid of any lactic acid build up. This is an awesome soak for when you’re sore or not feeling well or just need to unwind.
