Save vs Splurge
Time for another round of Save vs. Splurge! Maybe some of the hot new releases in green beauty have caught your eye or maybe you’re just looking to update your summer beauty routine. Whatever the case, there is plenty to choose from in the natural beauty category these days. While some products are 100% worth the splurge, sometimes scoring a great product at a great price can be extremely satisfying. It’s all about balance. Whether you’re in the mood to treat yo’ self or you want to add in some budget-friendly items, you decide: Save vs. splurge?
Brow Gel
Splurge: Ilia Essential Brow
This brow gel comes in 3 shades and the creamy formula tints brows while the small spooly grooms them into place. It defines brows and has buildable coverage if you want to go for bolder brows. It also stays put all day. In fact, it works so well that it’s currently sold out nearly everywhere! Aillea carries it and should have it back in stock soon! $26
Save: W3ll People Expressionist Brow Gel
This also comes in 3 shades, has a very similarly shaped spooly brush and works very well at defining and grooming brows! It also stays put all day and never gets crunchy or hard. For $17.99, I’d say it’s quite a deal! You can find it here!
Rose Scented Deodorant
Splurge: Agent Nateur Holi (Rose) Deodorant
As a fan of all things Agent Nateur makes, it’s no surprise I love this deodorant. I’ve talked about it endlessly on here and on social media because I love the gorgeous scent and it has been one of the best working natural deodorants that I’ve tried. At $26 it’s certainly a splurge though.
Save: Green Tidings Jasmine Rose Deodorant
While this has a different scent than the Holi (rose), it’s still a very pretty floral, rose scent and this deodorant is one of my favorites for staying fresh all day! It works all day and I can’t get enough of the gorgeous scent! For $14.99, you can’t beat it. You can also use code MAISONPUR5 to save on their site and they offer free shipping as well!
Hair Wax/Pomade
Splurge: Rahua Cream Wax
An all-natural blend of plant butters and waxes help hold and style shorter hair styles. This hair wax has their signature Palo Santo scent and Rahua always gets high marks in the hair care category! $32
Save: Badger Hair Pomade
Badger keeps it simple and makes quality products that work. This also has a blend of plant butter, oils, and wax to hold and style hair. This has been a long-time favorite for my husband! Plus for under $15 bucks (depending on where you score it) it’s a great deal. You can find it here.
Warm Eyeshadow Palettes
Splurge: Ere Perez Shadow Palette in Pretty
Ere Perez makes some gorgeous makeup that delivers with richly pigmented colors and high performing products. Their eye palette in Pretty gives you 6 warm toned shades ranging from buttery neutrals to chocolatey browns. $36
Save: W3ll People Nudist Eye Shadow Palette #1
Another fantastic new launch from W3ll People, this eye shadow palette gives you 5 very wearable colors that also range from creamy tones to coppers and browns. They have a balanced mix of matte versus shimmery shades, which I prefer, rather than having all shimmery. For a high-quality palette, it’s hard to believe the price: $24.99
Cleansing Powder
Splurge: De Mamiel Brighten Cleanse and Exfoliate Powder
De Mamiel is a luxury natural brand, known for its exquisite products. This cleanser is no exception. Simply mix a small amount in your hand with water and then massage onto your face to cleanse and exfoliate. It’s very gentle and soothing- perfect for starting off the day with a soft, clean slate. But for $70 it’s definitely a splurge.
Save: Leahlani Kalima Cleansing powder
Leahlani always creates the most beautiful products and Kalima is a good example of that. I love the soft color and scent. It also gently works to cleanse and exfoliate skin. While the 2 have a different scent profile, it also has a few things in common with the De Mamiel powder, such as its blend of clays, oat flour, and Hawaiian sea salt. If you’ve never tried a powder cleanser, you don’t know what you’re missing! Kalima is $52 and lasts a good while!
