Save vs Splurge

Green beauty may boast some of the highest quality, most potent natural ingredients available, but one look at prices can have you wondering if you can afford to put gas in your car after you purchase that new face cream. While some of the products are exquisite and 100% worth the splurge, sometimes scoring a great product at a great price can be extremely satisfying. The good news is that alongside these splurge-worthy products, there are some equally amazing products with a much lighter price tag. Whether you’re in the mood to treat yo’ self or you want to add in some budget-friendly items, you decide: Save vs. splurge?

Save vs. Splurge

Calming Face Lotion

Save vs Splurge

Pai Skincare is known for being potent and effective, and their Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream is no exception! With ingredients like lavender and chamomile calm skin, while the apricot kernel oil base deeply moisturizes. It’s well worth the $60 price, though it may be on the higher end of face lotions.

Wildcraft Skincare is a Canadian brand that offers beautiful botanical-based skincare and always brings value to the table. Their newest launch lives up to their reputation. CALM Lavender Chamomile Face Lotion has calming ingredients and shares many of the same traits as the splurge above, but at $34 it clocks in at almost half the price.

Volumizing Mascara

Fitglow Vegan Good Lash really brings the wow factor and instantly gives you bold lashes. It also has ingredients meant to nourish lashes and increase growth. So though it’s a splurge, the fact that it does double duty makes it well worth the $38 price.

Natural Finds At Target

The newly launched Expressionist Volumizing Mascara from W3ll People gives enough volume to hold it’s own again Fitglows. I’ve used both and they’re pretty comparable with the bold, big lashes they give. This may not double as a lash serum, but if you simply want bold lashes with a side of savings this one is for you for under $23.

Jasmine Toner

A cult favorite, The Jasmine Garden by May Lindstrom is definitely a splurge but the beautiful jasmine scent makes it hard to resist. It also includes some other ingredients to kick it up a notch, like colloidal silver and witch hazel. As lovely as it is, the $70 price tag may give you pause.

Ranavat Botanics Review

If it’s the beautiful jasmine that keeps you spritzing, the Organic Jasmine Tonique from Ranavat has a simple formula that lets the jasmine shine. It smells gorgeous and the jasmine is carefully steeped for days to keep the beneficial properties as potent as possible. Plus for $40, you can spritz away!

Sheer Powder

RMS is one of the OGs in the green beauty world and their innovative products have helped to shape many clean and conventional beauty brands. Their “Un” Powder is a sheer, lightweight formula that helps absorb excess oil and set your makeup. For $34 it falls on the higher end for powders.

Another sheer, lightweight powder that gives you quality at a great value is W3ll People’s Bio Brightener Powder. This blends in with any skin seamlessly and helps keep your makeup in place all day. The best part? Well, that’s the $21.99 price!

Hair Mask

Save vs Splurge

Rahua’s line of very gentle, all-natural hair products has some diehard fans, so it’s no wonder why their conditioning hair mask is a popular one. It deeply moisturizes to leave hair soft and smooth. But for $58 it’s a splurge.

What’s not to love about Josh Rosebrook’s products? His line of skin and hair care is all exquisitely formulated and has consistently won praise and loyalty from fans. And for $39, his Enrich Hair Mask is a steal compared to a lot of others on the market.

Though all of the splurge products are tempting, it’s nice to mix in some more reasonably priced items too. Balance, am I right? So what will you splurge on and what will you save on?

  1. When I’m looking at buying something, the per mL/g/oz cost almost always influences my decision… the May Lindstrom toner is actually cheaper than the Ravanat because it’s double the size, and the Josh Rosebrook hair mask comes in marginally more expensive than the Rahua one.

  2. That’s an excellent point and something I consider when purchasing as well. But when smaller sizes aren’t available the overall cost comes into play with some people’s monthly budgets. Especially for higher ticket items like May Lindstrom. Thanks for reading!
