Marie Veronique Skincare Review
When I first read about Marie Veronique Nadeau and her commitment researching how skin ages and sourcing the finest ingredients that address the causes of skin damage and aging, all while creating a skincare line that was free from any harmful ingredients, I was immediately intrigued. While some natural beauties may be content to smother themselves in coconut oil the rest of their lives and call it a day (not that there is anything wrong with that), sometimes it feels like we in the natural beauty world miss out on the scientific advances and research done for skincare. Things that can truly help the condition of your skin- whether it be breakouts, dryness or lines sneaking up on you. Marie Veronique Advanced addresses all of those things. Each product packs a powerful punch that goes beyond just cleansing or moisturizing, which is exactly what my skin needs. I was able to try a few things from their line and each product seemed to agree nicely with my skin.
Cleanser De Jour $40
You guys know I love an oil cleanser- it just does such a great job of dissolving my oil based makeup and getting rid of dirt and grime. This is unlike any oil cleanser I’ve tried though. It’s light and rinses right off. We’ve all heard about free radicals and oxides that harm your cells and not only age the body, but can cause cell mutations (read: cancer). This cleanser contains superoxide dismutase (SOD), which is an enzyme that dismutates the superoxide anion and then turns it into plain old oxygen or hydrogen peroxide. Studies have shown this superoxide is one of the most harmful free radicals, and causes skin fibroblasts and more as skin ages. How cool is it that you’re fighting that each time you use this cleanser?
Mist De Jour $35
This mist is great quick pick me up, delivering moisture to your skin and it’s full of probiotics which is amazing for your skin! When you balance the natural occurring good bacteria on your skin, it keeps the bad bacteria in check. This can help with everything from rosacea to acne to dryness. This mist also contains antioxidants, anti-inflamatories, and lauric acid to keep skin calm and protected. I spray this on before my moisturizer and then anytime throughout the day that I need a little moisture boost.
Serum De Jour $90
This daytime serum covers all your bases by protecting your skin from the environment with ferulic acid and with vitamins C and E. It also offers UVA protection when combined with the face oil (which you can layer on top). The ingredients not only protect your skin, but also helps to brighten and soothe it too. I use this after the mist in the morning. It goes on light and smooth and absorbs in quickly- which is a big plus! I need all the time I can get in the morning and I dislike sticky serums that take forever to absorb in.
Gentle Retinol Serum $110
Ok before you get scared off by the words retinol, know that this is an extremely gentle formula that does not cause irritation or peeling. This simply and effectively helps to speed cell turn over and boost collagen. It also helps to unclog pores. This serum is for nighttime use (retinol and sunlight don’t mix well!) and goes on after the cleanser and mist. In addition to the retinol, this also contains L-ascorbic acid and the SOD I mentioned in the cleanser. This is a powerhouse serum that really helps get your skin in shape each night!
This face oil is full of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, especially the omega-3 type. That means it delivers deep hydration. This oil was designed to fight hyper pigmentation, lines, breakouts, inflammation and photo-aging damage. I apply this morning and night after the serums and it really does deliver some serious (and much needed) hydration. You can add on a second layer if your skin is particularly parched. They’ve used top notch ingredients that all have a purpose and really benefit your skin.
This mask is meant to gently exfoliate and brighten your skin, while drawing in moisture. It leaves your skin feeling so smooth! This would be a great mask in the summer, but I’ve found it gives my skin a breath of life during these winter months. It has lactic acid, probiotics, moisturizers, sodium salicylate to soothe skin and potato flour which has the enzyme catecholase, which lightens skin (I never knew that before). This face mask would work well on all skin types.
A line of products like this is an investment for sure. That’s why when I share a brand like this, I always want to be sure it’s a good value for my readers. The fact that they’ve sourced the best ingredients they could find and spent so much time researching the most effective ingredients says a lot. They also don’t include filler ingredients, which means the entire formula is potent and really beneficial for your skin. You truly are getting what you pay for with this line. They’ve also generously offered my readers a special discount too! Use code maisonpur for 15% off your order from 2/18 thru 3/18 (one discount use per customer). Happy shopping! xo
Oh lovely- I wrote a blog review on the same set a few weeks back and I must say I’m so impressed with this line and the science and research that goes behind the brand!
