The May Discovery Featuring Siam SEAS

This month features a brand rooted in Southeast Asia, and influenced by TCM and Ayurveda. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying Siam SEAS, then you know the unique, effective delight of this line. I’ve had quite a few favorites from them over the years and each has been totally unlike any other product on the market. Needless to say, I’m excited for the May Discovery!

The Hero

 

Sai Clear Skin Serum | 20 ml | ($74 retail)

Wow, talk about a go-getting, multitasker. This serum is seriously taking on EVERYTHING. I’d compare it to Tracy Flick, but honestly, I think she got a bad rap in the movie. In any case, this goes beyond addressing blemishes and treats your skin in a multitude of ways.
It would be impossible to go through all of the powerhouse ingredients and not have this post go on for days, but let’s talk a few heavy hitters. Formulated with cooling gypsum, soothing MSM, and a stable form of Vitamin C, this corrective serum creates a protective and clearing feel on the skin. A variety of herbal ingredients help calm, detoxify, brighten, and smooth skin.
Like all Siam SEAS products, you can smell the earthy, herbal ingredients, but this also has a clear scent of rose. The serum is pretty lightweight. They recommend applying it while skin is wet (like directly after your toner). I see why as I didn’t do that the first time and it was slightly tacky while I was applying it- though it still absorbed well. I’ll say it’s done much better since I’ve followed the advice!

The Sidekick

Mekha Herbal Active Cleanser | 50 ml | ($71 retail)

A true classic from the Siam SEAS line! This cleansing balm has little granules in it to gently exfoliate while you cleanse. While it’s great day to day, it’s a lifesaver for think makeup, heavy sunscreen after a day at the beach, and more. The best part? unlike many balms, it emulsifies with water and rinses fairly clean.

This may have been one of the first products I tried from this line because when I smell it I get drawn back to the first time I tried it and several other products. It certainly has the herbal, earthy undertones that always remind me of Siam SEAS.
